Barrows, Inc. Advertising and Public Relations in Burlingame,
California. The firm was established in San Francisco in 1980
and incorporated in 1981. Barrows moved the company to Burlingame
in 1990, after the Loma Prieta Earthquake in 1989 damaged the
building in which his San Francisco office was located.
Before opening his own business, Barrows
was the Vice-President of an ad agency called Greif & Associates,
Inc., which was also located in Burlingame. He worked at Greif
and Associates from 1977-1980.
Prior to that, Barrows sold advertising time for KCBS-FM in
San Francisco, from 1975-1977, and he worked as a sales assistant
at CBS in New York in their CTS National Sales Department from
1973-1975.
He was born in Brooklyn, New York on June 9, 1950 and he grew
up on Long Island, in Hewlett, New York. He graduated from Hewlett
High School in June 1967 and went to college at Northwestern
University in Evanston, Illinois. He graduated from Northwestern
in June 1971, with a B.S. in Speech. He majored in Radio, Television
and Film.
After graduation, Barrows went to Hollywood. His first job out
of college was as a Production Assistant on the Steve Allen Show
in 1971. After that, Barrows worked for other companies in and around Hollywood, including Bob Banner
Associates, National Cinema Corporation and KHJ Television in
Los Angeles. He moved back to New York in 1973, where he started

of Lies is a collection of intimate secret confessions, as told
from beyond the grave, through video tombstones. The stories
are about life and love, sex and romance, success and money,
good and evil and heaven and hell, with insights and advice about
almost every aspect of our lives.
He is also the author of a poem called “It Used to Be Made in America.” "It Used to Be Made in America" is about the loss of jobs and the consequences of the outsourcing of jobs. The poem was published in the Indiana Labor News, and it can be seen online at: www.itusedtobemadeinamerica.com.
He has also written a booklet on advertising
called “The
Barrows Popularity Factor.” The Barrows Popularity Factor
is an easy-to-use mathematical equation that actually lets you
quantify the relationship between advertising and sales. You
may read more about The Barrows Popularity Factor at www.barrows.com.
He is also a sculptor. He works primarily
in stone and you may view some of his artwork in “The
Barrows Art Gallery.”
